MPs have voted by 312 to 308 to reject leaving the EU without a withdrawal agreement.

It is not a legally-binding decision – and it does not rule out the UK leaving the EU.

But it means MPs could now get a vote on delaying Brexit.

That vote would take place on Thursday, and if it is passed – and the EU agrees to it – the UK will not leave the EU as planned on 29 March.

MPs are now voting on whether the PM’s Brexit plan should be scrapped in favour of a “managed no deal”.

utter meaningless stupidity. We are leaving on the 29th March, unless the EU deign to allow us to humiliate ourselves. That I suspect will be very bad for every single one of these MPs who are voting for it to happen.

The UK referendum was held on 23 June, 2016, to decide whether the UK should LEAVE OR REMAIN in the European Union. LEAVE won by 51.9% to 48.1%. 🇬🇧

  25. Le Sigh says

Despicable contempt of the electorate. Every MP from conservative or Labour parties that voted for this should be held to account and immediately stand in a bi-election. They were elected on a manifesto of delivering Brexit, and they have just voted against that today.

  26. Johnoè says

So the voted against what Brexit should have been………..

  27. RedKharitonov says

How can a bunch of bureaucrats decide on the outcome of Brexit? Is it because of the relevance the EU has to the Bourgeoisie? The higher classes should NOT dictate the outcome of our economic future, a future which regards the day-to-day lives of ordinary citizens, socially and economically.

  28. Ben Sharp says

It's embarrassing being British as the government an all other parties have made us look like complete mugs. Who to vote for next😔 Nigel 🤘or don't vote and all🙋

  29. Matt Latham says

How can this archaic load of nonsense govern anything? Best way for people to leave the EU is emigrate out of this corrupt country.

  30. Johnoè says

And there you have it the end of democracy, I’m never voting for labour or the so called conservatives again

  31. theylied1776 says

What is brexit …. is that a new law in Narnia?

  32. John Falkenstine says

The narrow margin and the inability of so many to accept the stupidity of Brexit is depressing.

  33. anon psychology says

they`re NOT allowed to cancel BREXIT. it`s legally binding. we officially leave on the 29th 11pm in accordance to LAW. IF they cancel brexit – EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT VOTED FOR BREXIT (AND REMAINERS THAT ACCEPTED THE VOTE AND RESPECTS DEMOCRACY) NEEDS TO DESCEND ON LONDON IF WE DO NOT LEAVE ON THE 29TH MARCH 11PM
